Australia climb two places in latest FIFA Rankings

Despite a friendly loss to world champions Argentina during the June window, the Subway Socceroos have moved up two places to 27th in the latest FIFA World Rankings.

The Aussies had dropped to 29th following the March window which saw Australia record a 3-1 win and 2-1 loss to Ecuador in Sydney and Melbourne respectively.

However, the Green and Gold have climbed two spots back into 27th.

That is despite Graham Arnold's men falling to La Albiceleste, currently the highest-ranked nation in the world.

Australia are also now the third-best ranked AFC nation behind Japan (20) and IR Iran (24) with Korea Republic sliding to 28.
