Aussies Abroad Preview: Mooy vs Rowles & Atkinson in Scotland, Ryan in line for Danish Superliga debut

It's another big weekend of Aussies Abroad action as Aaron Mooy's Celtic face Kye Rowles and Nathaniel Atkinson's Hearts while Mat Ryan could make his Danish Superliga after debuting for  Copenhagen on Wednesday.

United Kingdom

Starting in Scotland, where Aaron Mooy and Celtic will be hoping to continue their unbeaten start to the season when they host Nathaniel Atkinson and Kye Rowles' Heart of Midlothian on Monday at 12am (AEST). Both teams are unbeaten in the league so it has all the makings of an enthraling encounter with a distinct Aussie flavour. 

Rowles has enjoyed a particularly impressive start to the season and was rewarded for his efforts with a place in the last Scottish Premiership team of the week.  An excellent last-ditch challenge was a particular highlight for the centre-back as Hearts went on to record a 4-1 win in their last match. 


Rowles and Atkinson both started in Hearts' 2-1 loss to FC Zurich on Friday in the first leg of their Europe League play-off.

Elsewhere in the Scottish Premiership, Aziz Behich's Dundee United face St. Mirren on Sunday at 12am (AEST) while Martin Boyle and Lewis Miller's Hibernian face a tough match against Rangers on Saturday at 9:30pm (AEST). 

In England, Riley McGree and Middlesbrough will want to return to winning ways after two consecutive draws in the Championship when they travel to Reading on Sunday at 12am (AEST). 

McGree started and played 83 minutes in the number 10 role as Middlesbrough drew 2-2 with Stoke City on Thursday. 

Elsewhere in the Championship, Kenny Dougall could be in action when Blackpool travel to Burnley on Sunday at 12am (AEST). Dougall also started and played 90 minutes in Blackpool's midweek 1-0 win over Queens Park Rangers.

Bailey Wright's Sunderland will also be in action when they travel to Stoke City on Sunday at 12am (AEST). Wright came on in the 56th minute as Sunderland lost 2-1 to Sheffield United on Thursday. 

In Olyroos Abroad news, Tyrese Francois will be looking to make a Premier League appearance for the second matchday in a row when Fulham take on Brentford on Sunday at 12am (AEST). 


In the Championship, goalkeeper Jacob Chapman was an unused substitute as Huddersfield lost 2-1 to Norwich on Thursday. Huddersfield's next match against Coventry City has been postponed to allow pitch improvements to be completed. 

In League Two, Lachlan Brook will be looking for another start when Crewe Alexandra FC host Northampton Town on Sunday at 12am (AEST). Brook started and played 91 minutes as Crewe secured their third win of the season against Sutton United on Thursday. 

Europe

Starting in Denmark, where Mat Ryan could make his Danish Superliga debut when F.C. Copenhagen debut when they travel to Lyngby Boldklub on Saturday at 3am (AEST). Ryan made his first start for Copenhagen on Wednesday as they secured a 2-1 win over Trabzonspor in the first leg of their Champions League play-off.

Elsewhere in the Danish Superliga, Joel King's Odense Boldklub will be looking to record their first win of the season and climb off the foot of the ladder when they host AC Horsens on Tuesday at 3am (AEST). 

In Spain, where Awer Mabil and Cádiz CF will be hoping to bounce back from their opening day defeat when they travel to CA Osasuna on Sunday at 1:30am (AEST).


In Italy, Fran Karacic and Brescia Calcio will be looking for back-to-back wins to open the Serie B season against Frosinone Calcio on Sunday at 1:30am (AEST). 

After a commanding 3-0 win in their last 2. Bundesliga outing against FC Magdeburg,  Jackson Irvine and Connor Metcalfe will be hoping St. Pauli can record back-to-back victories against F.C. Hansa Rostock on Sunday at 9:30am (AEST). 

Elsewhere in Germany, Ajdin Hrustic could be in action when Eintracht Frankfurt face FC Köln on Sunday at 11:30pm (AEST). 

In France, Toulouse and Denis Genreau will be looking to continue their unbeaten start to the season when they host FC Lorient on Sunday at 11pm (AEST). 

In Belgium, Jason Davidson will be hoping to continue his positive start to the season and James Jeggo's could feature for K.A.S. Eupen when they host R.F.C. Seraing on Saturday at 4:45am (AEST). 

In Olyroos abroad news, Alou Kuol could feature for VfB Stuttgart II on Saturday at 10pm (AEST) when they travel to VfR Wormatia Worms in matchday three of the Regionalliga Südwest while  Josh Rawlins could be in action for FC Utrecht play FC Emmen on Sunday at 5am (AEST). 

Asia & The Middle East

Starting in Qatar, where Trent Sainsbury lined up for Al-Wakrah on Tuesday as they beat Umm Salal SC 4-0. Sainsbury will be in action again when  Al-Wakrah face Qatar SC on Tuesday at 2:30am (AEST). 

In Japan, Mitch Duke's Fagiano Okayama face top-of-the-table Yokohama FC on Saturday at 7pm (AEST). Fagiano flying in the  J2 League after going undefeated in their last seven matches. They currently sit in fourth as they look to secure promotion to Japan's top division. 


Elsewhere in Japan, Adam Taggart's Cerezo Osaka had their match against FC Tokyo postponed due to the approach of Tropical Storm Meari.

The United States

Finishing with Major League Soccer, where Socceroos defender Miloš Degenek and his Columbus Crew side will be in action when they host Atalanta United on Monday at 7:30am (AEST). Columbus will be looking to return to winning ways after a draw in their last MLS Eastern Conference match.
