Aussies Abroad: Langerak keeps eighth clean sheet of the season

Mitch Langerak secured his eighth clean sheet of the season in the J League as his Nagoya Grampus scored a late winner to take all three points against Cerezo Osaka on Saturday afternoon.

Langerak’s Grampus registered consecutive 1-0 victories on Saturday afternoon as they scored the decisive goal to beat third placed Cerezo Osaka.

A 90th minute goal from Nagoya’s Mateus was enough for the home side to steal all three points and give Langerak the added bonus of another clean sheet to add to his stellar record.

That means they were able to complete the league double against Osaka with fifth placed Nagoya coming away with a 2-0 win when they last went head to head in July.

In the Major Soccer League, Brad Smith started and played 58 minutes for Seattle Sounders as they were outdone 3-1 away to LAFC on Monday morning.

The Sounders’ first defeat in over a month sees their lead at the top of the table cut to just one point with Sporting KC breathing down their neck.
