Aussies Abroad: Degenek on top in Saudi Arabia while Gersbach’s Breda in trouble

There were crunch results at opposite ends of the ladder for two of our Caltex Socceroos on Saturday morning (AEST).

Their 1-0 win over Al Ahli, courtesy of an Alberto Botia strike in the 43rd minute, saw them overtake Al Nassr, although they have played a game more than their rivals for the title.

In Europe overnight, Alex Gersbach was not involved as NAC Breda fought out a 1-1 draw with FC Emmen in the Eredivisie in the Netherlands.

Breda remain last on the ladder, four points adrift of 17th placed Excelsior.
