Aussies Abroad: Boyle nets winner in important Al Faisaly victory

Socceroos forward Martin Boyle netted a first-half winner as Al Faisaly FC climbed out of the relegation zone in Saudi Arabia on Sunday morning (AEDT).

Boyle’s decisive effort in the first half saw the Saudi Pro League club claim their first win since February 6th and now move up to 13th on the table, one point above the relegation zone.

Boyle opened the scoring as his strike in the 18th minute fired right past the Al-Hazm FC custodian Ibrahim Zaid and his goal proved to be the key moment of the match for the adopted Australian's side, Al Faislay FC.

The 28-year-old scored his second goal of the season for his new club after moving to Saudi Arabia from Scottish outfit Hibernian, where he was top goalscorer before making the move overseas.

After netting his second for Al-Faisaly FC, the Australian will look to cap off a good run of form with his Saudia Arabian club later this week.
