Aussies Abroad: Boyle bags two assists, Ryan keeps cleansheet in first win of season

Martin Boyle was in the thick of the action for Hibernian as they held league leaders Rangers to a 2-2 draw in the Scottish Premiership while Maty Ryan registered his first cleansheet of the season for Brighton & Hove Albion.

Martin Boyle put in a full shift for Hibernian, producing two assists as his side drew 2-2 with leaders Rangers in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday night.

Boyle teed up Drey Wright for a first time finish from six yards out after his cross from the right fell perfectly to the left winger in the 22nd minute.

That was the first time that Rangers had conceded in their eight matches this season.

Arzani entered the action in the 68th minute and showed plenty of promise down the right wing for his new side.

That was his side’s first win of the campaign after they went down 3-1 to PSV Eindhoven in their first match of the season.

In the Belgian Pro League, Danny Vukovic’s Genk won 3-1 at home to KV Mechelen on Monday morning.

That was only their second win of the season as they move up to 8th place on the league table.

Heading to Denmark where Awer Mabil played the final 20 minutes for FC Midtjylland as they won 1-0 at home to Lyngby in the Danish Superligaen on Saturday night.

This was Midtjylland’s first league victory after they stumbled to defeat in their opening round fixture against SonderjyskE.

In J League action, Mitch Langerak put in a full shift between the sticks as his Nagoya Grampus ran out 2-1 winners against Vissel Kobe on Saturday night.

Two Nagoya penalties on either side of the interval were enough to see Langerak’s side claim the three points as they keep hold of 4th spot on the league table.

Thomas Deng started and played 82 minutes for Urawa Red Diamonds as they were soundly beaten 3-0 by table toppers Kawasaki Frontale on Sunday night.

James Jeggo put in a full shift for Aris Thessaloniki as they won 1-0 away to Volos in the Greek Super League on Monday morning.

Jeggo’s side have had a perfect start to their league campaign with two wins from as many matches.

In the English Championship, Massimo Luongo played the full game for Sheffield Wednesday as they drew 0-0 against Watford on Sunday morning.

Heading to League One where Bailey Wright put in a full shift in the heart of defence for Sunderland as they registered a 2-0 win against Oxford United on Sunday morning.

In the 2 Bundesliga, Brandon Borrello started and played 73 minutes for Fortuna Dusseldorf as they fell to a 2-1 defeat away to Hamburg in their season opener on Friday night.
