Aussies Abroad: Bailey Wright puts in man of the match performance for Sunderland

Bailey Wright was awarded the man of the match for Sunderland after he rifled home his side’s equaliser in their 1-1 draw against AFC Wimbledon.

Wright’s impressive display for the Black Cats on Wednesday morning (AEDT) did not go unnoticed after he was handed the man of the match on the back of his slick finish which salvaged a point for his side.

The north-east club went behind three minutes before the break thanks to a Joe Pigott penalty before Wright’s sublime effort in the 62nd minute rescued a point for his side.

Wright produced a striker’s finish when Jack Diamond’s searching cross into the box picked him out at the left post with the Aussie centre back calmly chesting the ball under control before his half volley soared into the back of the net.

That is now four points out of a possible six for Sunderland after they dispatched of Lincoln 4-0 in their meeting last weekend.
