Aussie youngster scores in FA Cup win over EPL outfit Bournemouth

Australian fullback Callum Elder has helped League One outfit Wigan Athletic into the Fourth Round of the FA Cup following a stunning 3-0 win over EPL outfit Bournemouth on Thursday morning.

The 22-year-old netted his side’s third goal – a well-taken header - following earlier strikes to Samy Morsy and Dan Burn in the comprehensive victory.

The goal was Elder’s first since joining the Latics on loan from Leicester City.

Born in Sydney, Elder came through the youth ranks at the Foxes but has spent recent seasons on loan at Barnsley, Brentford, Peterborough, Mansfield Town and now Wigan.

Wigan will face another EPL outfit in West Ham in the Fourth Round at DW Stadium.
