Socceroo striker out for 4 weeks

German club VFB Stuttgart have announced new Socceroo striker Robbie Kruse will be sidelined for around four weeks due to injury.

The club reported on their website that the former Melbourne Victory striker suffered a muscle tear on his right calf during training on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old, who recently made his debut for Stuttgart last week, will be restricted to rehab at the Vfb Reha-Welt before progressing to light jogging in around a week, said the club.

It’s a blow for the talented forward who came off during the Asian Cup final for Australia with an ankle injury that ruined the remainder of his European club season.
