Socceroo keeper Mathew Ryan signs for Valencia

Socceroo keeper Mat Ryan has been welcomed by Valencia as his move to the La Liga club was confirmed on a six-year deal.

The Aussie national team number one has had his first session at the club's training ground on Tuesday after flying in from Club Brugge. 

"Valencia Football Club have reached an agreement with Belgian side Club Brugge KV to sign Australian international goalkeeper Mathew Ryan on a six-year deal," read a statement on the club's official website.

The club's Twitter feed welcomed the 23-year-old Australian with the hashtag #benvingutMathewRyan.

Ryan, bought for a fee of around A$10m has been brought in due to the injury of Valencia keeper Diego Alves.
