Jedinak’s Crystal Palace into FA Cup semis

Mile Jedinak’s Crystal Palace put their Premier League woes behind them to book a spot in the FA Cup semi-finals with a hard-fought win over Reading overnight.

Palace - who are on a run of 12 Premier League games without a victory - secured a trip to Wembley thanks to late goals from Yohan Cabaye and Fraizer Campbell at the Madejski Stadium.

Frenchman Cabaye converted from the spot in the 86th minute after Jake Cooper had needlessly hauled down Yannick Bolasie, with the Reading defender picking up a second yellow card from referee Mike Dean.

The visitors made sure of the win in injury time, substitute Campbell finishing at the second attempt after his initial effort had struck a post.

Jedinak got through 90 minutes for Alen Pardew’s side and was unlucky not to have scored with a powerful header in the 54th minute, with Reading keeper Ali Al-Habsi producing an acrobatic save.

Palace have failed to register a League win in 2016 but have been in inspired form in the Cup competition, knocking  out top-flight  rivals Southampton, Stoke City and Tottenham in the previous rounds.

Elsewhere, Tomi Juric played the final 18 minutes as Roda JC were thumped 3-0 away to De Graafschap in the Eredivisie. Fellow Aussie Rostyn Griffiths was an unused substitute for the visitors.
