Reports: 'Arry Redknapp to coach against Socceroos in Sydney

Former English Premier League coach Harry Redknapp is set to coach Jordan against the Socceroos in their World Cup qualifier in Sydney on March 29.

According to reports in the UK's Daily Mail (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3494206/Harry-Redknapp-coach-Jordan-ahead-upcoming-World-Cup-qualifiers-taking-new-role-Derby-County.html) Redknapp will take over Jordan starting with the two World Cup qualifiers this month. 

Those game are at home to Bangladesh then against the Socceroos in Sydney on March 29 at Allianz. 

The popular 69-year-old  Redknapp, a former West Ham, Southampton and Portsmouth boss, is also said to be taking over at Derby County as director of football whilst managing the Jordanians' World Cup qualification, according to the reports. 

Jordan are currently second in Group B on 13 points, two points behind the Socceroos with two games to play in the current World Cup qualification phase. 

Redknapp's deal is said to have come about following discussions with friend Prince Ali. 

The former EPL manager has not coached since he resigned his post at QPR in February 2015, citing the need for knee surgery.

Jordan were previously managed by another English manager Ray Wilkins, who took charge of the side during last year’s AFC Asian Cup.
