The national team were placed 59 in the most recent rankings and jumped two places to 57 despite not playing a match in the last month.
Australia’s next opponents in FIFA World Cup qualifying for Russia 2018 are Iraq (down 14 places to 113) and UAE (who remain unchanged at 74).
A quiet month of international football has resulted in a largely static movement in the world rankings, with no change whatsoever in the top 20.
The result of this, after the significant changes that arose last month from the various continental championships, is that Argentina remain top, followed closely by Belgium, Colombia, Germany and Chile.
