Aussies catch the eye in English Premier League

Dream big. That’s the message from Aaron Mooy after the Caltex Socceroos playmaker made an eye-catching start to his English Premier League career with Huddersfield Town.

DREAM BIG SAYS MOOY AFTER PREMIER LEAGUE DEBUT

And Mooy’s side are dreaming big after they got off to a perfect start back in the top flight of English football.

The Terriers destroyed Crystal Palace 3-0 away from home in a display that had the Town fans on their feet and Mooy receiving the plaudits again from the fans.

RYAN'S EPL DEBUT

Mat Ryan made his EPL debut for Brighton & Hove Albion and pulled off some great saves as his side looked to hold off a rampant Man City.

But Albion let in two late goals to go down 2-0 to Pep's men at a packed AMEX stadium.

“We wanted to get something from this game in front of our home fans; it was disappointing in that aspect but there was patches throughout the match where we had a little bit of momentum," Ryan told his club's website.

“We need to stick together for our defensive work. In the last two games, the goals we have conceded have come down to our errors and not down to great play from the opposition."

FEDERICI AND SMITH

Caltex Socceroos Adam Federici and Brad Smith didn’t see game time for their EPL club Bournemouth, who lost 1-0 at away to West Brom.

WHAT’S NEXT?

Both Ryan and Mooy are set to play again this weekend in the EPL.

This weekend, the Seagulls are away to Leicester City, who also lost on the opening day (4-3 to Arsenal).

And Mooy's Terriers host another newly promoted club in Newcastle United, who played Spurs in their season opener losing 2-0.
