Aussies abroad: Amini's dream debut, Bridge scores

Mustafa Amini has completed a dream debut for AGF in the Danish Superliga, while former Western Sydney Wanderers striker Mark Bridge scored again in Thailand.

AGF defeated SonderjyskE 2-1 on Sunday, with Amini creating the opening goal for Stephan Petersen and then doubling the visitors' lead in the second half to effectively wrap up the three points.

Amini, who signed from Randers last month, lined up in an advanced central midfield position in AGF's 4-1-4-1 formation and was thrilled to start his time in Aarhus with a win on the road.

"To have a good start with the fans, it was a dream debut," he told AGF's YouTube channel.

"You know, I scored and to celebrate with the fans - we're at an away game and it felt like we were at a home game."

Despite Simon Kroon's late goal for the hosts, AGF held on for victory.

Elsewhere in Denmark, Brent McGrath's debut for Esbjerg didn't go as well as he suffered a 4-0 defeat away to former club Brondby.

McGrath started but was taken off in the 71st minute.

In Thailand, Mark Bridge notched his fourth goal for Chiang Rai United as they lost 2-1 to Chainat Hornbill.

It was a tough day in Asia for Aussies Abroad with Nathan Burns (FC Tokyo) and Adam Hughes (Zhejiang Yiteng) both suffering defeats, while Matthew Spiranovic's Hangzhou Greentown claimed a scoreless draw against Shijiazhuang Ever Bright.
