Mooy’s Huddersfield held at Burnley

Caltex Socceroos midfielder Aaron Mooy continues to shine for Huddersfield in the Premier League as the Terriers picked up another point on their return to the English top flight.

Mooy was Huddersfield’s most creative influence as they created the best of the chances against Burnley, only for the match to finish goalless at Turf Moor.

After a lacklustre first half, Town created a chance just after the interval when Tom Ince burst from midfield and set up Laurent Depoitre but the Belgian's low shot was well dealt with by Burnley keeper Nick Pope.

With Mooy pulling the strings in the middle of the park, Ince then fired wide from 20 metres out after a swift counter-attack.

But neither side was able to find a goal towards the end as Huddersfield made it nine points from the opening six matches to sit in eighth spot on the EPL ladder.

Mooy’s Huddersfield next face their biggest test since promotion, a home match against in-form Tottenham at John Smith’s Stadium next Saturday night.

It’s then all focus on the Caltex Socceroos’ FIFA World Cup qualifying playoff matches against Syria next month.
