Mooy sets up winner in heated Yorkshire Derby

Caltex Socceroo midfielder Aaron Mooy set-up Huddersfield Town’s late winner overnight in a typically heated Yorkshire Derby to strengthen the Terriers' push for promotion to the EPL.

In a pulsating clash, the Terriers overcame rivals Leeds United 2-1 thanks to an 89th-minute goal from defender Michael Hefele.

And the Caltex Socceroo was the architect of the winner, receiving the ball just outside the box before shooting, with the ball deflecting into the path of Hefele to pounce.

The goal sparked wild celebrations followed by an all-in melee near the halfway line that saw both managers sent to the stands.

The result was huge for Huddersfield, seeing them leapfrog Leeds into fourth spot as they chase promotion to the EPL.

Mooy, who is enjoying an outstanding season in the Championship, was superb again drawing plenty of praise from the fans.

In the Eredivisie, keeper Brad Jones kept another clean sheet as Feyenoord beat FC Twente 2-0 to remain five points clear at the top.

Both Craig Goodwin and Kenneth Dougall watched from the bench as Sparta Rotterdam lost 3-2 against PEC Zwolle.

Tomi Juric came off the bench in stoppage-time for his Swiss club Luzern as they conceded twice in the last 12 minutes to draw 4-4 at Lausanne.

Meanwhile, Tom Rogic was again absent with an ankle injury as Celtic cruised to a 5-2 win at St Johnstone.

Rogic hasn’t played since hurting his ankle in mid-December.
