Marco Tilio made his senior debut against Vietnam as a late substitute in January 2022 following strong form with club side Melbourne City.
Six months earlier, at only 19-years-old, Tilio made his Olympic debut as one of the youngest members of the Australian Olympic Men’s Football Team in Tokyo, scoring the sealer in a famous 2-0 win over Argentina.
Tilio’s professional debut occurred in the AFC Champions League for Sydney FC in May 2019. His A-League debut arrived against the Central Coast Mariners in February 2020, in which he scored a goal in the 89th minute before aiding teammate Van Der Saag to another goal two minutes later to secure a decisive 3-0 victory.
The right winger joined Melbourne City in September of 2020, after being recruited from the Sky Blues as he aimed for more playing time. In their semi-final match against Macarthur FC, Tilio scored the team’s second goal to advance to the final. Following an injury to Martin Boyle, Tilio was named in Australia's 26-player squad for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar but was an unused substitute.
