Petratos began his career with Sydney FC, coming on as a substitute in a 1-0 victory over Newcastle Jets. He was released by Sydney after two seasons at the club signing with Malaysian club Kelantan.

Petratos returned to Australia prior to the 2013/14 A-League to sign with Brisbane Roar and helping the club win the A-League Championship that season. He would spend four seasons at the Roar before signing with the Newcastle Jets, via a brief stint in South Korea. The 2017/18 season was a breakout year for Petratos as he scored 10 goals and registered 9 assists from 27 appearances leading the club to the A-League Grand Final.

Petratos made his debut against Norway in March 2018, starting on the right wing.

A-League connection:

Petrato began his career with Sydney FC before signing for Brisbane Roar. He is currently signed to the Newcastle Jets and played a significant role in their run to the 2017/18 A-League Grand Final.
