The U-23's attacking midfielder played a pivotal role in the Olyroos successful qualification for the Tokyo Olympics, with former Socceroos assistant coach Ante Milicic bringing the young talent across to new A-League outfit Macarthur FC.

Genreau joined the Bulls from Melbourne City, and despite his former side lifting the Premiers Plate in 2020/21 Genreau will have no regrets of his decision to join Milicic in Macarthur, having played a pivotal role in midfield surrounded by experienced international talents such as Beñat Etxebarria, Markel Susaeta and former Socceroos captain Mark Milligan.

Genreau made his A-League debut for City as a 17-year-old. A loan move to Dutch outfit PEC Zwolle was to follow in 2018/19 before Genreau returned to City and ultimately departed for Macarthur.

Genreau travels to Kuwait as part of Arnold's 31-man squad eager to notch his first Socceroos cap.
