The Nowra born goalkeeper departed Australia for England as a fresh faced 18-year-old in 2003 after making his way through the AIS system.

He went onto forge a successful career in England and was a household name throughout his 10-year stay with Reading.

During his time with the Royals he made his Premier League debut in the 2006/07 season and his club form led to his eventual Socceroos call up by Pim Verbeek on the eve of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Federici featured in the English Championship for Stoke City before returning to Australia to play for Hyundai A-League newcomers Macarthur FC ahead of the 2020/21 season.
