Some of the names you might be familiar with who found the back of the net once include the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Didier Drogba, Steven Gerrard, Mesut Ozil, Yasuhito Endo, Robin van Persie, Shane Smeltz, Maicon and the Socceroos- own Tim Cahill.

The highest number of goals by a player at the tournament was five with Thomas Muller, David Villa, Diego Forlan and Wesley Sneijder all scoring a handful. Muller won the Golden Boot as he finished with the most assists of the quartet.

Furthermore, today-s number is also the age of the oldest coach to take charge of a side in the World Cup - Otto Rehhagel was 71 when he coached Greece at South Africa 2010.
