Australian players are the current talk of the Barclays Premier League transfer market with Tim Cahill, Rhys Williams and Brett Holman all being linked with moves within the January transfer window.

The biggest piece of news seems to be that Middlesbrough defender Williams may be the next Australian to pull on the famous red Liverpool strip, with reports suggesting his management team have held talks with the club.

If Liverpool were to make an offer to for Williams it-s rumoured the asking price would have to be around the $10 million mark to get Borough and Williams to consider it.

Just last year Bolton Wanderers offered $4.5 million for Williams and Burnley made a $6 million offer for his services, but were both turned down, with Williams also stating his preference was to get back into the top flight after winning promotion with Borough.

Liverpool are the second club this week to be linked with Williams after West Bromwich Albion showed interest in acquiring his services.

Still on Merseyside and it seems Tim Cahill-s long career at Everton could be coming to an end, with cashed-up QPR manager Mark Hughes apparently keen to sign the Australian star.

Cahill, who has been hampered by injuries over the last year has not found the net for the Toffees since December 2010, after once being their most regular goalscorer.

Whether Everton entertain the offer for the Socceroo is another issue entirely, but Hughes has a firm record in getting the players he wants.

Brett Holman could also be joining those two in the EPL with Aston Villa reported to be upping their bid to sign the energetic Australia midfielder before the January transfer deadline.
