Transfer reports: Leeds circle Celtic's Socceroo

According to reports in the UK, Celtic's Socceroo playmaker Tom Rogic has become a main transfer target for English Championship club Leeds United.

Leeds is desperate to add a creative star to their squad and Rogic, who is off-contract at Scottish giants Celtic at the end next season, is their no.1 priority in January.

It’s understood Celtic has slapped a £1 million price tag on the 23-year-old, who has scored six goals and had four assists in 24 games for the club.

Rogic has been in negotiations with Celtic for a number of weeks over an extended deal at Parkhead.

If Rogic was to sign at Elland Road he would join a long line of Aussies who have featured at the club.

Mark Viduka and Harry Kewell were both big stars at Leeds in the EPL, while Jacob Burns also spent a few seasons with the Yorkshire side and is well remembered.

Leeds, who were beaten 2-1 by Tommy Oar's Ipswich Town on Wednesday morning (AEDT), are currently sitting 15th in the Championship and 12 points away from the playoff places.
