Teenage duo Sebastian Ryall and Jason Naidovski have been added to the Qantas Under 23s squad ahead of their opening match of the Lunar New Year Cup against China Under 23s in Hong Kong on Sunday.

Both players are currently at the Australian Institute of Sport and played for Australia in last month-s Australian Youth Olympic Festival (AYOF). Defender Ryall captained the team, and also appeared for the Qantas Young Socceroos last year, while striker Naidovski scored the winning goal against China that ensured Australia finish third in the AYOF.

The Qantas Under 23s will be without the services of captain Mark Milligan who has returned to Australia after suffering a broken nose in Wednesday-s match against Chinese Taipei. However the Sydney FC defender is expected to be available for the opening Stage 2 Olympic qualifying match against Iran in Tehran on February 28.

The winner of Sunday-s match will face the victor of Jamaica Under 23s and a Hong Kong League XI next Wednesday with the two losing teams to meet in a play-off for third place.

The Qantas Under 23s will then travel to Dubai where they will remain in camp preparing for the opening Group D match in Tehran.
