Football Federation Australia today named the first Socceroos squad of 2007 for the international match against Denmark to be played at Loftus Road, London on Tuesday 6 February 2007.

Head Coach Graham Arnold selected an all European-based squad the majority of which were part of the Australian team that drew 1-1 with fellow World Cup finalist Ghana at Loftus Road in November 2006.

"This match is very important to us as it is the first time we have been together as a squad this year," said Mr Arnold.

"We only have a few more games available to us before the Asian Cup so it is another vital preparation match."

The current squad includes four players who will be confirmed closer to the match with Craig Moore and Michael Beauchamp recovering from injuries while Mark Bresciano and Jason Culina have wives who are due to give birth to their first children close to the match date.

Denmark-s ranked number 23 in the world and are probably the best side in Scandinavia along with Sweden, " added Mr Arnold.

"They-ve got very good players, committed players and a lot of pace in their side."

"One of the things I am looking forward to most from this game is that Denmark have a very similar style and type of players to us."

"We-re both very athletic and physical, whilst at the same time we-re very mobile, so it-ll be a very interesting game, a bit like a chess match."

The match will be shown live and exclusive on FOX SPORTS 3 from 6.30am AEDT (Wednesday 7 February 2007).
