The draw for the UEFA Champions League group stage has been made with Socceroo Robbie Kruse’s German club Leverkusen drawing Lionel Messi’s Barcelona in a dream draw.
The Aussie forward’s club is set to meet the reigning UEFA Champions League holders away in a matchday 2 clash on September 29.
Also in Group E is Serie A club Roma and Bate from Belarus.
Kruse's teammate Roberto Hilbert from Leverkusen told UEFA.com: “Those are pretty much the toughest opponents that you can get.”
Ominously, Messi scored five times against Leverkusen in a 7-1 drubbing in a 2011/12 round of 16 second-leg clash.
