ROGIC BREAKS THE DEADLOCK

The Hoops dominated proceedings at Ibrox but failed to take a couple of excellent opportunities in the first half.

But just five minutes after the break Rogic struck.

After Rangers failed to clear a corner, Patrick Roberts’ scuffed shot fell to Rogic in the box and the Aussie slammed a shot high into the net on the turn.

With his side leading 1-0, Rogic was substituted just after the hour mark, before Leigh Griffiths doubled the lead soon after.

It’s the second consecutive league game Rogic has found the net, with Celtic five points clear at the top of the SPL ladder.

WHAT’S NEXT?

Celtic turn their attention to UEFA Champions League action next, with a trip to Belgium to play Anderlecht on Thursday morning (AEST).

Brendan Rodgers’ side then host Hibernian in the SPL next weekend before the Rogic heads into camp with the Caltex Socceroos for the FIFA World Cup qualifying playoff against Syria.

Ange Postecoglou’s side play Syria in Malaysia on October 5 before heading to Sydney for the second leg on October 10.
