Robbie Kruse’s impressive start to the season in Germany has continued with the Caltex Socceroos winger instrumental in his side’s upset win in the 2.Bundesliga overnight.
The 28-year-old got through a full 90 minutes for VFL Bochum as they stunned third-placed SV Sandhausen 2-0 at home.
Kruse provided the crucial assist for both of his side’s goals with Lukas Hinterseer and Kevin Stoger netting in either half to hand Jens Rasiejewski’s side a vital three points.
The win leaves Bochum in 11th spot on the ladder after 10 matches.
Elsewhere, Brandon Borrello was a late substitute in Kaiserslautern’s 1-1 draw away to St Pauli.
