Qantas Socceroos 23rd in FIFA World Rankings

The Qantas Socceroos have risen one place in the FIFA World Rankings to No.23, following their results in the recent fourth round of the Asian qualifying for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

Australia have remained consistently around the top 20 of the world-s best international teams in recent years.

The highest ranking achieved so far was 14th in September 2009, and as recently as September last year the Qantas Socceroos were ranked as high as 19th in the world.

Asian qualifying rivals Japan have risen three places to No.20, remaining ahead of Holger Osieck-s side in the rankings.
