With less than two weeks before the Caltex Socceroos begin their AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019™ campaign, we give you the chance to play Head Coach and decide your team to face Oman in their final pre-tournament friendly on Sunday night (AEDT).

The Caltex Socceroos are unbeaten in their three games under new boss Graham Arnold, scoring eight goals and conceding only once.

Those results came in a 4-0 victory against Kuwait in October, as well as a 1-1 draw with Korea Republic and 3-0 win over Lebanon last month.

Goalkeeper

Maty Ryan performed his usual heroics for Brighton and Hove Albion, helping his side to a 1-1 draw with Arsenal. Danny Vukovic had something to smile about too, featuring in his Genk’s 3-1 come-from-behind win over Gent.

Mitch Langerak is coming into camp off the back of his J1 League campaign with Nagoya Grampus ended on December 1.

Right-back

The Hyundai A-League boys will tussle for that coveted right-back spot with Joshua Risdon and Rhyan Grant in camp. 

Grant arrived earlier than Risdon, who’s backing up from his Boxing Day clash against Adelaide United.

Centre-back pairing

Captain Mark Milligan was not included in Hibernian’s clash against Glasgow Rangers in Scotland, while Milos Degenek and Trent Sainsbury enter camp from their clubs Red Star Belgrade and PSV Eindhoven. 

Matt Jurman also joins Caltex Socceroos camp coming in from Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad.

Left-back

Just like on the right-flank, the left-back spot makes for an interesting duel. 

Aziz Behich has started all three games at left-back under Graham Arnold, but don’t discount Rosenborg-based Alex Gersbach.

Centre-midfield trio

Jackson Irvine starred for Hull City in the Championship, grabbing a double in his side’s 2-1 win over Preston North End. His potential partner Massimo Luongo played the full 90 minutes in Queens Park Rangers’ 3-0 rout of Ipswich Town. 

Tom Rogic may just have a spring in his step after Celtic beat Aberdeen 4-3 to go top of the table.

Mustafa Amini and James Jeggo enter camp off the back of their impressive club form in Denmark and Austria.

Forwards

Martin Boyle played the full 90 minutes in his match against Rangers, while teammate Jamie Maclaren was subbed at 70 minutes.

Chris Ikonomidis was part of the first contingent to arrive in camp, earning his spot after a sensational Hyundai A-League season with Perth Glory.

Robbie Kruse and Mathew Leckie bring in an abundance of international experience, while Andrew Nabbout and Awer Mabil will provide threatening attacking options.
