The Olyroos have been drawn in Group D of the AFC Under-23 Championship in 2016 along with Jordan, United Arab Emirates and Vietnam.
The official draw was conducted at the Four Seasons Hotel in the Qatari capital city of Doha on Saturday afternoon.
The 16 participating teams are split into four groups of four teams. The top two teams in each group (eight teams in total) will qualify for the knockout stage.
The winner, the runners-up and the third-placed team will qualify for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games Football Tournament.
The participating nations (listed in the order of their seedings) are Qatar (hosts), Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Korea Republic, Australia, Syria, Japan, UAE, Iran, DPR Korea, Uzbekistan, China, Yemen, Thailand, Vietnam.
The Olyroos secured their spot at the AFC U23 Championship after finishing top of Group F in March's Qualification Stages, cruising to wins over Hong Kong (6-0), Chinese Taipei (4-0) and Myanmar (5-1).
