No joy for Caltex Socceroos in J-League Cup

It was a tough night for two Caltex Socceroos involved in J-League Cup action overnight.

Mitch Duke's Shimizu lost 1-0 at home to Sapporo.

The former Central Coast Mariners striker played a full 90 minutes in the defeat, which was sealed by an 81st minute goal.

Meantime, Caltex Socceroos defender Milos Degenek was an unused substitute as his Yokohama Marinos side was beaten 2-0 by Kobe.

Milos Degenek made his J-League debut for Yokohama F. Marinos over the weekend.

The J-League Cup runs alongside the main J-League competition in Japan and is initially played in a group format.

Both Shimizu and Yokohama have lost their first two matches.
