Melbourne Victory midfielder Mark Milligan has been ruled out of the Socceroo squad for the clash with Japan after failing to recover from a knee injury he suffered in last weekend’s Hyundai A-League clash with the Newcastle Jets.
Milligan’s departure was delayed a day to see if his knee settled down following the injury but he was today ruled out of the match and will not travel to Japan.
Socceroos Head Coach Ange Postecoglou has decided not to replace Milligan in the squad, which will now contain 22 players for the week-long training camp and match against Japan in Osaka on 18 November.
