Also on the scoresheet for Paul Okon-s side at the Mooch Myernick Field was Marc Marino and Melbourne City-s Stefan Mauk.
The game was the first in a round-robin tournament called the 2014 NTC Invitational, also featuring a USA and Chile, based at the US national training centre.
For Australia, the matches are important components of the Young Socceroos- preparations for the AFC U-19 Championship in Myanmar in October this year, which also double as the qualification tournament for the FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand which will be held in July 2015.
Australia-s game against the US on July 18 (7pm local time) will be streamed on US Soccer-s website.
