Kit up with the Socceroos

One man a football side can’t get on the field without is the all-important Equipment Manager and for the Socceroos that man is Dom Rabsch.

A position that is often the brunt of footballing jokes, the role requires meticulous planning and should not be underestimated.

While you’re unlikely to find any prima-donnas in the Australian change room, it’s Rabsch’s role to ensure the entire national team squad are kitted out for every training session and match.

This involves engaging with supplies, manning the laundry room and of course a supportive ear on game day never goes astray – just don’t ask for a coffee.

Watch the video above to see Rabsch take us through his game day ritual ahead of the Socceroos farewell match aginst South Africa in Sydney.

The Socceroos play Croatia in a friendly next Friday night (kick off 9am AEST time Saturday morning live on Fox Sports) ahead of their tournament opener against Chile on June 13.
