Joeys remain unbeaten at AFF Youth Championships

The Joeys will be out to maintain their perfect record at the Under-16 AFF Tournament in Cambodia when they take on Myanmar on Monday.

Ufuk Talay's side has won their opening two games of the event, scoring an impressive 12 goals in the process.

The Aussie teenagers opened their tournament last Thursday with a comfortable 4-0 win over the host nation in front of almost 25,000 fans.

Controlling more than 70 percent of possession, the Joeys flowing, attacking game had the hosts on the back foot and they scored three times in the first half through Lachlan Brook (two) and Jacob Italiano.

Ahmed Sweedan added a fourth after the break to complete the rout.

If that was impressive their performance in the second match against Singapore on Saturday was even better.

Talay made nine changes to his starting side and while the Aussies went behind early on they soon settled to take control of proceedings.

Ramy Najjarine equalized for the Joeys before a Mark Moric brace made it 3-1 at the break.

Further goals to Dylan Pieras (two), Akbari and two more to Moric – to make it four for the match – resulted in a thumping 8-2 win.

Following the clash with Myanmar the Joeys will take on the Philippines on Wednesday to round out the group stage.
