FFA CEO Ben Buckley thanked the State Governments of NSW, Victoria and Queensland and their agencies Destination NSW, Victorian Major Events Company and Queensland Events for their wonderful support of Australian football and the Qantas Socceroos.

“The home games are the most crucial events in our four-yearly mission to qualify for the world-s biggest festival, the FIFA World Cup,” Buckley said.

“FFA is delighted to have committed partners in the three state governments and their event agencies who will help us deliver these landmark occasions for the Australian sporting public.”

Current Qantas Socceroo Brett Emerton, who-s also an FFA ambassador, welcomed the confirmation of the host cities for the FIFA World Cup Asian qualifiers.

“The Socceroos get a fabulous reception everywhere we go in Australia and now the fans can start planning for these important games,” Emerton said.

“Sydney and Stadium Australia will always have that special history with that unforgettable night against Uruguay in 2005, but we-ve had magical nights as well in Brisbane and Melbourne and we need big support in every city to make sure Australia qualifies for Brazil in 2014.”
