Young Australian Curtis Good will move to Dundee United for the rest of the season, after signing with the club on loan from Newcastle United.

The 20 year old recently represented the Olyroos at the AFC U-22 Championships and is considered an outside chance of a berth in the Socceroos World Cup squad.

Equally adept at across the back line, Good is set to have an immediate impact with his new team.

"Curtis comes to us highly recommended and from a well respected club," said Dundee United manager Jackie McNamara.

"He is left-footed and can play as either a central defender or left back. These are areas that require cover and it was important this was addressed during the window."

Good has been on the fringes of the Newcastle first team this season, only for a spate of injuries to halt his progress.

Good first made his mark in the A-League with Melbourne Heart, before signing for Newcastle in 2012.
