Qantas Socceroo Tim Cahill, who was a major figure in Millwall-s run to the 2004 FA Cup Final, has sent his former club out of this year-s competition, after scoring in Everton-s 1-0 win at Goodison Park.

Cahill-s 72nd minute winner has now set up a home tie with Premier League front runners Chelsea on January 28.

The Australian midfielder, who spent seven seasons at Millwall, got on the end of a James Beattie cross to slide his shot home and end Millwall-s resistance.

The win was thoroughly deserved by Everton, who had several more shots strike the woodwork, while Millwall keeper Andy Marshall made several magnificent saves including from a trademark Cahill header.
