Westfield Matildas Head Coach Hesterine de Reus has selected 31 players for a training camp to be held at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra from 22 - 28 March.

Coming off the back of a seventh placing at the Cyprus Women-s Cup, De Reus will be using this camp to prepare her players for the upcoming two-match series against Brazil in Brisbane new next month and the AFC Women-s Asian Cup which will be held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam from from 14-25 May.

“It-s fantastic that we have been able to have a number of camps close together over the past couple of months to prepare ourselves,” said de Reus.

“We will be using our performance against France at the Cyprus Women-s Cup as the starting point to improve ourselves.

“During this camp we will also focus on how to play against Brazil who are a quality opposition.

“I will also be keeping an eye on various players in relation to their possible selection in the final squad for the AFC Women-s Asian Cup,” concluded de Reus.

Following the training camp, the Westfield Matildas will play two international friendly matches against the Brazilian Women-s National Football Team at Queensland Sports & Athletics Centre in Brisbane on Sunday 6 & Wednesday 9 April 2014 respectively.

Tickets for the Sunday match are available for purchase now. Access to the Wednesday match is by invitation only with no public ticket sales.

The match between the Westfield Matildas and Brazil that will be played on Sunday 6 April will be broadcast live and exclusive on ABC TV.
