BREAKING NEWS: Caltex Socceroos' opponent confirmed for CONCACAF playoff
Honduras will now face the Caltex Socceroos next month in an intercontinental playoff for a spot at the 2018 World Cup after a rollercoaster final round of games of CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers,
After today's 3-2 win over Mexico, Honduras finished fourth in CONCACAF.
Australia qualified for this intercontinental playoff following their 2-1 victory last night over Syria in Sydney which sent them through 3-2 on aggregate.
The two nations Australia and Honduras will now meet in November over two legs.
The last time the Caltex Socceroos played an intercontinental playoff, they defeated Uruguay over two legs in November 2005 to qualify for the 2006 World Cup.
