Behich stunner sinks Popovic in Turkey

Caltex Socceroos wing-back Aziz Behich has continued his red-hot goal-scoring form to help his side to a crucial win in Turkey overnight.

Behich netted Bursaspor’s opener in their 2-1 win over Tony Popovic’s Kardemir Karabuk, blasting home an eye-catching first-time strike from outside the penalty area.

It's the third straight Super Lig game in which Behich has found the net and his fourth goal in five league outings.

Bursaspor are sixth after 13 games, while Popovic’s side are languishing in the relegation zone after five straight losses.

Behich has been in a rich vein of form in recent months for club and country, with the defender playing a crucial role in Australia’s qualification for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

The fullback played the full 90 minutes in both legs as the Socceroos overcame Honduras and booked their spot at a fourth-straight World Cup.
