WATCH: Irvine and Metcalfe star for St Pauli | Aussies Abroad Wrap

Jackson Irvine scored a double, Connor Metcalfe and Mitch Duke assisted while Harry Souttar put in another outstanding performance in the Premier League as our Socceroos signed off from club duties and headed into camp.

Subway Socceroos

Starting in Germany, where both Connor Metcalfe and Jackson Irvine started for St Pauli in a 5-0 win against SV Sandhausen on Sunday in the 2. Bundesliga.

Matcalfe was substituted in the 6nd minute after assisting while Irvine continued his goalscoring form with a double in another 90 minute display. 

Irvine has been in fantastic form of late with four goals and an assist in his last five matches as St Pauli extended their winning run to eight games in a row. 

Mitch Duke was another player who also registered two assists for Machida Zelvia in the J2 League in a 3-0 win over  Montedio Yamagata on Sunday. Duke played another 90 minutes and contributed heavily as his side continued their undefeated start to the season with another win.

In the Premier League, where Harry Souttar played another 90 minutes for Leicester City and put in a man of the match display in a 1-1 draw with Brentford on Sunday.

Souttar was commanding in the heart of the defence and won all six of his aerial duels.  He made some excellent tackles too, and nearly scored a superb solo goal. 

Souttar's eight headed clearances was the highest tally out of any player in the Premier League over the most recent matchweek. 


Following Everton's draw at Chelsea, Leicester are now 17th in the Premier League, a point above West Ham, who have a game in hand. 

In the English Championship, Riley McGree started and played 72 minutes for Middlesbrough as they beat Preston 4-0 on Sunday. 

The win reduces the gap on second-placed Sheffield United to just three points as Boro chase automatic promotion to the Premier League.

Elsewhere in the Championship, Bailey Wright started for Rotherham United on Sunday but the match against Cardiff City was postponed two minutes into the second half due to an unsafe pitch after a half-time downpour.

The game will now be rearranged from the start.


Kenny Dougall also came on for Blackpool FC in the 10th minute in a 4-1 loss to Coventry on Sunday. Blackpool are 23rd in the Championship, five points away from safety. 

Callum Elder came on in the 87th minute as Hull City drew 1-1 with Reading on Sunday.  

In League One, Massimo Luongo played 93 minutes for Ipswich Town FC and scored a goal in a 2-0 win over Shrewsbury on Sunday to leave them two points behind second-placed Plymouth. 

James Jeggo played 90 minutes as Celtic restored their nine-point lead at the top of the Premiership after hitting back to beat the 10-man Hibs.

Elsewhere in Scotland, Keanu Baccus played 90 minutes while Ryan Strain also started and played 83 minutes for St Mirren in a 1-1 draw with Dundee United on Sunday. Aziz Behich also played another full match for United.

Kye Rowles also played another full match for Heart of Midlothian in a disappointing 3-0 loss to Aberdeen on Sunday. Cameron Devlin and Garang Kuol were unused substitutes. 

Ryan McGowan was also an unused substitute for St Johnstone in a 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock on Sunday.

In the Scottish Championship, Dylan McGowan played 90 minutes for Hamilton Academical in a 2-0 loss to Ayr on Sunday. 

In the Netherlands, where Maty Ryan played another full game as AZ Alkmaar lost 2-1 to FC Twente on Monday. AZ Alkmaar have dropped out of the top three with the loss. 

In Czechia, Awer Mabil came off the bench in the 78th minute for AC Sparta Prague in a 2-0 win against FC Hradec Králové on Sunday. 

In France's Ligue 1, Denis Genreau came on in the 88th minute for Toulouse FC in a 2-0 loss to LOSC Lille on Sunday.

In Serie B, Fran Karacic was an unused substitute as Brescia Calcio lost 3-0 to Genoa Sunday. Brescia bottom of Serie B with eight games remaining.

In Belgium, Jason Davidson started and played 83 minutes as KAS Eupen lost 3-0 to Gent in the Belgian Pro League on Monday.

In Norway, Gianni Stensness played a full game for Viking FK while Nick D'Agostino came off the bench in the 74th minute in a 5-3 loss to FK Bodø/Glimt in the Norwegian Cup fourth round on Sunday.

The J1 League continued on Saturday for Thomas Deng with another 90 minutes as Albirex Niigata suffered their first loss of the season with a 2-1 defeat against Urawa Reds. 

Elsewhere in the J1 League, Mitch Langerak played and kept another clean sheet for Nagoya Grampus in a 0-0 draw with FC Tokyo on Saturday. 

The K1 League also continued with Harrison Delbridge playing another 90 minutes as Incheon United lost 5-0 against Gwangju on Saturday. 

Over to Qatar, where Trent Sainsbury played another full game as Al-Wakrah SC beat Al Ahli 5-2 on Sunday.

The MLS season also continued as Milos Degenek played another full game for Columbus Crew in a 2-1 loss against New York Red Bulls on Sunday.

Starting in Scotland, where Lewis Miller started and played 79 minutes as Hibernian lost 3-1 to Celtic on Sunday. 

In the English Championship, goalkeeper Nicholas Bilokapic was an unused substitute as Huddersfield beat Millwall 1-0 on Sunday.

In League Two, Lachlan Brook started and played 77 minutes as Crewe Alexandra lost 1-0 to Northampton Town on Sunday.

Elsewhere in League One, Caleb Watts came off the bench in the 77th minute and grabbed an assist as Morecambe drew 1-1 with Oxford United on Sunday. 

In the German 3. Liga, John Iredale came off the bench in the 73rd minute SV Wehen Wiesbaden lost 3-0 to SV Waldhof on Sunday.

In the German Regionalliga West, Jacob Italiano came off the bench in the 51st minute for Borussia Mönchengladbach II in a 4-3 win against against Bocholt on Sunday.

In Premier League 2 Division 1, Cameron Peupion played a full game for Brighton & Hove Albion U21 in a 1-0 win over Fulham U21 on Sunday. 

Josh Rawlins came on in the 83rd minute as Jong FC Utrecht lost 1-0 against MVV Maastricht in the Eerste Divisie on Saturday.

In the Norweigan Cup, Patrick Yazbek started and came off in the 74th minute for Viking FK in a 5-3 loss to FK Bodø/Glimt in the Norwegian Cup fourth round on Sunday.
