Caltex Socceroos keeper Mat Ryan has been part of a Brighton side beaten 2-0 by Arsenal at the Emirates in their latest Premier League outing.
Spanish defender Nacho Monreal opened the scoring in the 16th minute before Nigerian midfielder Alex Iwobi made the points safe for Arsenal ten minutes into the second half.
The loss sees Brighton drop to 14th on the Premier League ladder.
Ryan now jets to Malaysia to join the Caltex Socceroos ahead of their make-or-break World Cup playoff matches against Syria.
Game one is in Malaysia on Thursday night with the return match in Sydney the following Tuesday evening.
