Aussies abroad: Rogic's Celtic in five-star win

Caltex Socceroos playmaker Tommy Rogic has played a full part in Celtic's 5-0 demolition of fellow Premier League side Kilmarnock in the Scottish League Cup overnight.

Despite a couple of attempts on goal, Rogic wasn't on the scoresheet with Leigh Griffiths grabbing a brace and Anthony Ralston, Kieran Tierney and Stuart Armstrong also netting.

Celtic return to Scottish League action on Sunday when they visit Partick.

They opened the defence of their title with a comfortable 4-1 win over Hearts on Sunday.

CAN ROGIC GUIDE ROOS TO RUSSIA?

Rogic is sure to play an important role in the Caltex Socceroos side for upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Japan and Thailand.

Wins in Saitama on August 31 and Melbourne on September 5 would see Australia in the box seat to qualify automatically for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia next year.
