Aussies abroad: Gersbach's Lens win in France

In positive signs ahead of Australia’s upcoming friendlies, Caltex Socceroos defender Alex Gersbach got through another 90 minutes to help Lens to a narrow victory in France overnight.

Gersbach, on loan from Norwegian club Rosenborg, started for a fourth-straight match for the Ligue 2 outfit as they secured a 2-1 comeback win away to Quevilly-Rouen.

Jordan Lefort gave the hosts the lead on the half-hour mark before Ivan Lendric restored parity for Lens on 62 minutes.

And in dramatic fashion, Lens grabbed a late winner with Clement Chantome scoring deep into stoppage time to hand the visitors a 2-1 victory.

The win leaves Gersbach’s side 14th on the Ligue 2 table.

In Denmark, Mustafa Amini was introduced off the bench in the 67th minute as AGF played out a 0-0 draw at home to SønderjyskE.
