Aussies abroad: all square in Aussie Championship battle

Caltex Socceroos duo Massimo Luongo and Bailey Wright have been forced to share the spoils after their respective sides played out a 1-1 draw in the English Championship on Sunday (AEDT).

Luongo’s QPR hosted Wright’s Bristol City at Loftus Road, with Bobby Reid’s late strike rescuing a point for City after Rangers took the lead via a first-half own goal.

Wright and Luongo both got through 90 minutes for their sides, with the result leaving Bristol in equal third while QPR are languishing in 16th spot.

Elsewhere, Jackson Irvine played a full game for Hull City but couldn’t prevent his side falling to a 1-0 loss to Leeds United at Elland Road.

The defeat keeps Hull in 19th spot on the Championship table, three points above the relegation zone.
