Aussie keeper into Europa League QFs

Mat Ryan's Genk have progressed to the last eight of the Europa League following a 1-1 draw with Gent overnight.

In the second leg of their Round of 16 tie, Genk went in with a commanding 5-2 lead from the first tie.

In the end, there would be no miracle comeback at the Genk Arena as Albert Stuivenberg's men eased past their opponents 6-3 on aggregate.

Genk are through to a UEFA club competition quarter-final for the first time in club history.

The draw for the last eight will be made later today (Friday).

Ryan is due to link up with the Caltex Socceroos in the coming days ahead of two massive World Cup qualifiers in Tehran and Sydney.
