The AFC Futsal Club Championship 2009, due to be held in Isfahan, Iran next month, has been postponed. No new dates have been confirmed.
KUALA LUMPUR: The AFC Futsal Club Championship 2009, due to be held in Isfahan, Iran next month, has been postponed. No new dates have been confirmed.
AFC has been closely monitoring the security situation in Iran and decided on Friday to postpone the tournament, which was scheduled from July 4-11.
The tournament was to feature the leading futsal clubs from 10 AFC countries: New South Wales Thunder (Australia), Wuhan Dilong (China), Foolad Mahan Sepahan (Iran), Newroz Sports Club (Iraq), Nagoya Oceans (Japan), AUB Altyn Tash (Kyrgyzstan), Pro-s Café (Lebanon), Al Sadd (Qatar) and Port Authority of Thailand (Thailand).
It was to be the first-ever AFC championship for futsal clubs.
